Dawn Farm’s Transitional Housing program, also known as the Chapin Street Project, offers a safe, structured, and supportive environment for individuals in early recovery from substance use disorders. The program emphasizes personal responsibility, community involvement, and the development of life skills essential for sustained sobriety.
Program Features:
• Supervised Living: Each residence is monitored by a live-in house manager who is in long-term recovery and directly supervised by a social worker. This ensures residents receive the support needed to succeed.
• Structured Routine: Residents are required to maintain employment, attend recovery meetings, adhere to a curfew, and participate in weekly house meetings. Engagement in outpatient treatment is generally expected during the stay.
• Community Integration: The program assists residents in connecting with the recovering community, fostering a robust support system. Vocational assistance is available through employment groups and partnerships with local recovery-friendly employers.
• Specialty Housing: Dawn Farm offers specialty housing for parents with young children at the Strong Roots location. All facilities are LGBTQ-friendly, with transgender residents assigned housing in accordance with their self-identified gender.
Program Details:
• Length of Stay: Residents can stay from 6 months up to 2 years, providing ample time to establish stability and independence.
• Fees: The cost is $560 per month, covering housing and program services.
• Locations: The program spans more than a dozen locations in Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti, Washtenaw County, Michigan. All sites are conveniently located on bus lines, facilitating easy access to employment and community resources.
