Veterans’ Employment Services (VES)

VES is a program under the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity, dedicated to assisting veterans and their families in finding meaningful employment.

Services Available:


Career Services for Veterans: Provides one-on-one career services to eligible veterans and their spouses to reduce or eliminate employment barriers.

Employment Readiness Series: Offers webinars and informational videos to prepare veterans for employment.

Local Veterans’ Employment Representatives (LVER): Assists employers in leveraging benefits associated with hiring veterans.

Veterans’ Career Advisors (VCA): Provides personalized services to help veterans achieve their employment goals.

Michigan Incarcerated Veterans’ In-Reach Program (MIVIP): Offers pre-release education, employment assistance, and career guidance to incarcerated veterans.

Michigan Patriot Care Services (MI-PCS): Helps employers address workforce needs by attracting and retaining veteran talent.

Priority of Service: Ensures veterans and eligible spouses receive precedence in employment and training services.
